Testimonials

I have always maintained with my family friends and colleagues that Dr. Rajeev Punjabi was the best thing that happened to me and my baby during my pregnancy , delivery and post.

I met Dr. Punjabi when I was four months pregnant and very disillusioned because of the gynaecologist I was visiting previously. I felt like a case number with her and was apprehensive after every visit.

That’s when a reliable colleague suggested Dr. Punjabi and he (my co-worker) waxed eloquent about not just Dr. Punjabi but his support staff at Tulip as well. He and his wife were very happy about their decision of birthing their little boy there.

I am an intuitive person by nature and the minute I entered Tulip with my husband, even in the waiting room, I got a “great vibe”! When I met doctor for the first time , he actually took the trouble to find
out how I was feeling, about my emotions , and my mood swings. He promised me that I was a perfectly healthy pregnant woman and that I could have all the fun I wanted (which was writing long hours,
swimming and dancing).

With every visit hence, I was more and more comfortable with Doctor. His staff is always smiling and at the core they are good human beings. That’s what a pregnant mother needs.

At the beginning of the third trimester I came down with a really wicked viral attack. Every time I coughed my womb hurt. I could not lie flat to sleep , I had to sit through the night. I was crying all
the time as I feared about my baby. That’s when doctor looked into our eyes and said firmly ” nothing is going to happen to your baby. Trust me ” And we did. And we are so glad we did.

Towards the end of my 40 weeks of pregnancy Doctor Punjabi was available for us even in the wee hours of the night. That’s what we loved about him. I had many “false alarms” or Braxton Hicks starting
two weeks prior to my actual delivery . Every time we called he told us exactly what to do, how long to wait for. Usually after a couple of hours the contractions would wane away.

I was taken aback when he called us one morning to inform that he would be away for a weekend getaway in the outskirts of the city. “In case you go into labour just call me and I will be there in an hour.
My staff knows that you may be coming.” I smiled over the phone and said a small prayer of gratitude to God for keeping me and my baby in such safe secure hands.

One night at three am when I called him with specific symptoms I was asked to pocket my toothbrush and get myself to the hospital. Most importantly doctor was there with us throughout my labour and delivery. He was a chief source of strength and support apart from my mother and husband.

On September 7th 2010 we were blessed with a beautiful girl child delivered by an angel called Dr. Punjabi

That every evening he stormed into my room and ordered me to walk around.”You’ve had a normal delivery so there is no reason you should be lying down.”

The staff at Tulip were extremely supportive and smiling which I loved. Even to date I look forward to Tulip to get our daughter vaccinated. They taught me how to breast feed my child and Dr.Punjabi spoke to me at length about the importance of breastfeeding to the health of the infant. It is because of his “lecture” that my baby was exclusively fed for 5 months and then till she was a year and a half.

When the post partum blues hit me on the second day , I was a wreck. But Doctor Punjabi had a long chat and told me that it was ‘normal’and how I would get over that too. And I did. Today we are enjoying every bit of parenting along with the incessant sussu potty doodoo just when we are about to have a meal.

Lastly, (I can go on and on about Tulip)- I wanted to stay at the nursing home longer than the 4 days because I enjoyed the people there so much! I had a great time and Tulip was the best thing to happen to
the three of us.

God Bless Dr.Punjabi and his team.
Thank you for your time.
